Tailors – located in the Municipal Buildings Stirling

Amongst the incorporated trades of the tailors was Robert Spittal who was tailor to King James 1v of Scotland around the year 1530. (see also Scottish Places Website )

Stirling Archives hold – Minutes, 1690-1831 (and extracts from ‘Old Book’ 1576-1615); Office bearers, 1751-1820; Accounts, 1744-1759, 1834-1907; Subscriptions, 1809-1821; Acts relating to trade, 1556, 1687-1777; Other papers relating to the Tailors and crafts, 1620-1869.
